They always return

One day Nani sold their loved pigeons to a stranger. "No," cried Zuzu, "don't let him take them."
     Nani
hugged ( در آغوش گرفت ) Zuzu and whispered ( زمزمه ), "Don't worry (نگران نباش). After he goes I will tell you a secret ( راز ). Don't cry."
When the man left, Nani held Zuzu and said, "The man is from far away ( خیلی دور ). He wanted to cheat ( گول زدن ) us so he gave us just a little money for our pigeons. He knows we need ( نیاز داریم ) the money for food. But he doesn't know that pigeons will never stay in a foreign country ( کشور خارجی ). They'll return (برگشتن) to us! They were made to know how to find their way ( چگونه راه خود را بیابند ) home, Zuzu."
Every day Zuzu waited in the courtyard (حیاط). But one day Zuzu was so discouraged (دلسرد) she stayed ( ماند ) in her room. When Nani saw her she said, "Why are you sitting here crying?! Go outside
(خارج از) right now! When your pigeons come home you must be there to welcome ( استقبال کردن ) them."
Week after week, Zuzu watched ( به تماشای ) for her pigeons. Would they come home? And then one day it happened ( اتفاق افتاد ). Zuzu saw them coming! She jumped up and ran to get water for them. Her five loved pigeons were home. Zuzu laughed. They had money for food too.
