There is a village
(روستا) in India where every new baby girl is welcomed ( استقبال کرد ) with a celebration
(با جشن استقبال شد). The village comes together to sing and dance. Then 111 trees are planted (کاشتن) and given the name of the new baby. In their tradition (سنت) "111" is the symbol of success (نماد موفقیت).
But there was a time in the village when girls were not valued ( ارزشی ندارد ) and their lives were very, very hard ( دشوار ).
In 2006 people began to fight ( جنگیدن ) this prejudice (تعصب). That year, the daughter of the village leader ( رهبر ) died
( فوت کرد ). He suddenly ( ناگهان ) understood how precious (ارزشمند) girls are. He went to his people and urged ( مجبور نمودن ) them to respect ( احترام گذاشتن ) all life.
Since then ( از آن به بعد ) 350,000 trees have been planted for all the girls born
( بدنیا آمدن ). The family of the new baby girl takes care of her trees. In this village the trees and the girls give life and beauty, and enrich ( غنی سازی ) their world.
If this can happen ( به وقوع پیوستن ) in one village, it can happen in many, many others.
