#19: What to believe

Madu lives in one of the poorest places (فقیرترین مکان ها  on earth. His dream was to be a ballet dancer
( رقصنده باله ). People laughed at him and said he was a fool
( یک احمق ). But his dear mother believed in
( اعتقاد داشتن ) him and said he must believe in himself.
What other people said was not true. They were not bad people. They said those things because they did not know any better (آنها بهتر نمی دانستند  ).
When Madu was 11, he went to a school called, "Leap of Dance" ( جهش رقص ). Every day he worked hard. Every free minute he danced. With every leap ( جهش ) he defied
( سرپیچی کردن ) the poverty ( فقر ), the trash
( زباله ها ) all around him, and the awful thoughts ( افکار وحشتناک ) that said his life was hopeless ( نومید ).
His teacher made a phone video of him dancing in the rain ( در باران ). He was dancing in the mud (گل و لای). He had no shoes. His dance was incredible ( باورنکردنی ). Twenty million people saw the video on social media. One person who saw it was a famous actress ( بازیگر زن معروف ). She wrote:
"He reminds me ( او مرا به یاد می آورد ) of the best of my people. We create (ما ایجاد می کنیم), soar ( اوج می گیریم ), imagine (  ما تصور می کنیم) despite the obstacles ( با وجود موانع وحشیانه ) that have been put in front of us! Our people can fly ( ما می توانیم پرواز کنیم )."
Madu got a scholarship ( بورس تحصیلی ) to a famous ballet school. He knew what to believe ( باور كردن ).  So do you.
